Fawaz is a Ph.D. student in the field of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Thermal Comfort Simulation, supervised by Dr. James O'Donnell. Fawaz completed a Masters degree in Sustainable Building Design & Performance from Architecture school at University College Dublin. His M.Arch. research project was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Paul Kenny and based on the investigation of passive cooling strategies applied to housing in hot climate case study Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before returning to academic for PhD, Fawaz has some work experiences in design and building modelling as BIM specialist for construction projects.
He commenced his PhD in UCD in January 2016, within the UCD Energy Institute.
