Dr Annunziata Esposito Amideo is currently an Assistant Professor in Management Information Systems. She joined the UCD Quinn School of Business Management Information Systems (MIS) Subject Area as an Assistant Professor in Business Analytics in October 2019. She has been awarded a PhD in Management Science by Kent Business School (University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, UK). Annunziata joined Kent Business School as a PhD student on a Graduate Teaching Assistantship scholarship in September 2015 and, after submitting her doctoral dissertation in September 2018 (then defended in December 2018), she was a Lecturer in Management Science there up to September 2019. Annunziata also holds a M.Sc. in Management Engineering and a B.Sc. in Management Engineering in Logistics and Production from University Federico II of Naples (Naples, Italy). Before starting her PhD in the UK, Annunziata worked as a Postgraduate Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (DIETI) at the University Federico II of Naples on a research project aimed at developing optimization models and algorithms to address issues related to communication networks. During that period, Annunziata’s research activity has also focused on problems arising in transportation networks. Annunziata's main research interests are in optimization for disaster management: she has been looking at evacuation planning as well as critical infrastructure protection. Annunziata also currently serves as secretary for the EURO WISDOM (Women in Society Doing Operational Research and Management Science) Forum, member of the PR & Media sub-committee for The UK OR Society WORAN (Women in OR and Analytics Network) and is an advisory board member of the UCD Women@STEM association.
