Power Systems Researcher
Chitaranjan Phurailatpam received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India, and MSc. Engg. Degree in Energy and Power Systems from the University of Liverpool, UK. Before joining as a Ph.D. student at IITB-Monash Research Academy, India, in 2016, he had also worked as a research assistant at IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. Chitaranjan will shortly be defending his Ph.D. thesis on the topic - 'Estimation of Synchronous and Non-Synchronous Inertia in Renewable Energy Dominated Systems'. His Ph.D. degree will be jointly awarded by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, and the Monash University, Australia. He is currently working as a Power Systems Researcher at the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His current research interests include system integration and control of renewable energy sources for grid support applications; security and stability of low inertia systems.
