Mohammad Jafarian joined the UCD Energy Institute as a Power System Senior Researcher in 2019. Mohammad works on the management of active distribution systems and control of distributed energy resources within ADEPT project. He received his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in power systems engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2007, 2009, and 2014, respectively. His PhD dissertation was entitled “The impact of wind farms with doubly fed induction generators on power system electromechanical oscillations”. Prior to joining the Energy Institute, he was an assistant professor, firstly at Shahrood University of Technology, from 2014 to 2016, and secondly, at Niroo Research Institute, from 2016 to 2019. His research interests include grid integration of wind energy systems, power system dynamics, and management of active distribution systems.
